The Type
There are so many cameras out there in the market that one is simply spoilt for choice. You can choose between the standard cameras, advanced cameras, or digital SLRs if you like. Each has their own advantages and disadvantages. Again, it is all about personal choice and what you’re using it for. A very handy standard camera would be the Canon PowerShot SD1300 which is a very sturdy, 12.1-megapixel camera. It is really easy to use and best of all, its features include 16x total zoom for precise zooming and accuracy, and different shooting modes like portrait, underwater, foliage, snow and others that you can play around with.
Durability
Of course, having a durable camera is very important especially if you are looking towards having a lot of fun with it snapping pictures to your heart’s content. Also, if you are into outdoor photography, you would definitely need to purchase a camera which can still survive after a few hard knocks. Of course, I am not recommending that you throw your camera to the ground to test its durability. However, that is one of the prerequisites of a good camera. Remember that the more expensive a camera, the better its warranty.
Lens
One of the major things that make pictures look great is the lens, of course. Your lens can determine how the picture will look like – good ones have the power to produce quality photos while bad ones can actually make photos look downright horrible. That is why it is important to choose the most suitable lens. They usually come in a standard type with zoom capabilities. A rule of thumb would be to find out if the lens is adjustable.
